About SpencerCreo

We believe in the power of collaboration and are deeply rooted in community partnerships. Our work brings together peers, frontline workers, social enterprises, nonprofit organizations, researchers, and health authorities to co-create meaningful impact. Many of our team’s ideas have grown into pilot projects in partnership with others, some of which have become permanent, community-embedded programs. As a small but mighty team, we also share our experience and insights through workshops and consultation services.

SpencerCreo provides grants to a limited list of organizations that focus on bringing about transformational change through education, training, employment, or family support

The SpencerCreo Foundation is a small family foundation based in Vancouver, BC. We work to bring about transformational change in individuals by supporting opportunities for education/training, employment, and life stability. Our key drivers are peer power and collaboration with community partners.

Since 2013, our specialist staff team has provided wrap-around support to people facing barriers to traditional employment. We believe in the dignity of work but know that it’s life stability - the things happening outside of work - that often make sustained employment possible. Our empathetic support workers deliver direct services, mentorship, and capacity-building across Vancouver’s DTES.

Foundation Historical Note

Ken Spencer founded the SpencerCreo Foundation in 2011, bringing his hallmark vision and generosity to life through grants, partnerships, and the creation of the SpencerCreo Centre. This vibrant hub offered affordable offices and gathering spaces for small nonprofits.
For more than a decade on Main Street, the Centre fostered collaboration, sparked ideas, and hosted countless meetings and celebrations that strengthened Vancouver’s social impact community.

In late 2024, when redevelopment required the Centre to close, the Foundation embraced a new chapter. Inspired by Ken’s spirit of engaged philanthropy, the Foundation chose to channel resources even more directly into community work and partnerships, continuing the mission he championed: supporting grassroots initiatives and helping people and organizations thrive.
